XVII
If the god of death decides to use the Death Note to kill the assassin of an idividual he favors, the idividuals life will be extended, but the god of death will die.

Entscheidet sich ein Todesgott sein Death Note zu nutzen, um den Mörder einer Person zu töten, die er liebt, wird das Leben diese Person erweitert, jedoch wird der Todesgott sterben.


The dead god of death will disappear, but the Death Note will remain. The ownership of this Death Note is usaually carried over to the next god of death that touches it, or kept in possession of the human owner of the Death Note.

Der Tote Todesgott wird verschwinden, aber das Death Note bleibt. Der Besitz geht für gewöhnlich an den nächsten Todesgott über, welcher es berührt, oder es bleibt beim menschlichen Besitzer des Death Notes.

The god of death must at least own one Death Note. That Death Note must never be lent to or written on by a human.

Der Todesgott muss immer ein Death Note besitzen. Dieses Death Note darf niemals verliehen werden oder von einem Menschen genutzt werden.


Exchanging and writing on the Death Note between the gods of death is no problem.

Austausch oder hineinschreiben des Death Notes innerhalb der Todesgötter ist kein Problem.

XV
When the same name is written on more than two Death Notes, the note which was first filled in will take effect, regardless of the time of death.

Wenn der gleiche Name in mehr als zwei Death Notes geschrieben wird, tritt das Notizbuch inkraft, in welchem als erstes eingetragen wurde, ungeachtet der Todeszeit.


If writing the same name on more than two Death Notes is completed within 0,06 seconds, it is regarded as simultaneous; the Death Note will not take effect and the indicidual written will not die.

Sollte das schreiben eines Namens in mehr als zwei Death Notes innerhalb von 0,06 Sekunden beendet werden, werden diese Einträge unwirksam; das Death Note wird keinen Effect haben und der Beschriebene wird nicht sterben.

XIV
When the owner of the Death Note dies while the Note is being lent, its ownership will be transferred to the person who is holding it at the time.

Sollte das Death Note verliehen sein, während der Besitzer stirbt, wird sein Besitz auf den Übertragen, der es zu dieser Zeit festhält.


If the Death Note is stolen and the owner is killed by the thief, its ownership will automatically be transferred to the theif.

Sollte das Death Note gestohlen sein, während der Besitzer vom Dieb ermordet wird, geht der Besitz automatisch an den Dieb.

XIII
You may lend the Death Note to another person while maintining its ownership. Subletting it to yet person is possible, too. This also allows the person in current possession of the note to trade for the eyes of the Shinigami.

Das Death Note kann verliehen werden, ohne den Besitz abzutreten. Vermietung an eine andere Person ist ebenfalls möglich. Dies erlaubt der Person, die zu diesem Zeitpunkt das Notizbuch hat, ebenfalls den Handel um die Augen des Shinigamis einzugehen.


The borrower of the Death Note will not be followed by a god of death. The god of death always remains with the owner of the Death Note. (although the Shinigami is not obligatet to.)

Der Todesgott wird dem Leihenden nicht folgen. Der Todesgott bleibt immer an der Seite des Besitzers des Death Note. (obwohl die Shinigamis nicht dazu verpflichtet sind.)

If you lose the Death Note or have it stolen, you will lose its ownership unless you retrieve it within 490 days.

Wenn das Death Note verloren geht oder gestohlen wird, verliert man den Besitzanspruch, sollte man es nicht innerhalb von 490 Tagen zurück erlangen.


If you have trade the eye power of a god of death, you will lose the eye power as well as the memory of the Death Note, once you lose its ownership. As the same time, the reamining half of your life will not be restored.

Sollte man die Shinigami-Augen besitzen, wird man diese mit der Erinnerung ans Death Note verlieren, sobald man die Besitzansprüche an dieses verliert. Die hälfte der Lebenszeit des eigenen Lebens werden nicht erstattet.

Even after the individual's name, the time of death, and death condition on the Death Note were filled out, the time condition of death can be altered as many times as you want, as long as it is chancged within 6 minutes and 40 seconds from the time it was filled in. But, of curse, this is only possible before the victim dies.

Auch nachdem Name der Person, Zeitpunkt des Todes und Todesumstand im Death Note aufgeschrieben wurden, kann die Zeit und der Umstand des Todes sofot geändert werden, wie man will, solange dies innerhalb von 6 Minuten und 40 Sekunden geschieht. Natürlich ist dies nur möglich, bevor das Opfer stirbt.


Whenever you want to change anything written on the Death Note within 6 minutes and 40 seconds after you wrote, you must first rule out the characters you want to erase with two straight lines.

Wenn man etwas, was im Death Note notiert wurde,  innerhalb von 6 Minuten und 40 Sekunden ändern möchte, muss man zunächst die betroffenen Zeilen mit zwei geraden Linien durchstreichen.


As you see above, the time and conditions of death can be changed, but once the victim's name has been written, the individual's death can never be avoided.

Wie man sieht, können Zeit und Todesumstand geändert werden, aber sobald der Name eines Opfers notiert wurde, kann dessen Tod nicht mehr vermieden werden.
